Bio
Billy has performed all over the U.S. and in Europe with some of the finest musical artists in the world, such as The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Joe Williams, Diane Reeves, Bobby Shew, Jerry Hey, Ramsey Lewis, Toni Tenille, Eartha Kitt, Diane Schuur, Anthony Newley, Maureen McGovern, Arturo Sandoval, Bob Mintzer, Steve Houghton, Allen Vizzutti, Rosemary Clooney, and many others. He has studied with many fantastic teachers, including Scott Whitfield, John Moak, Marc Dickman, Marta Hofacre, Tom Mitchell, Earl Pettey, Wayne Blackwell, Prentiss Hobbs, and Harry Watters.
After graduating from Grissom High School in 1987, Billy attended The University of Southern Mississippi and The University of North Florida, where he earned a degree in Jazz Studies. From 1992 to 1996 he worked extensively at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, and in 1995 he was a clinician and performer for the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE), Florida chapter. After leaving Florida, Billy went on to play with the Tommy Dorsey orchestra, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, John Wehner's Dream Band at The Famous Door in New Orleans, LA and Destin, FL. Currently he lives in Huntsville, has a large studio of students, does clinics and performs all around the southeast U.S. with groups such as The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, The Tuscaloosa Horns, Olde Towne Brass, The Brass Band of Huntsville, The Twickenham Winds, The Twickenham Brass Quintet, and several others.
